The National Dance Awards have been organised by the Dance Section of the Critics’ Circle to celebrate the vigour and variety of Britain’s thriving dance culture. They are presented by the Dance Section of the Critics’ Circle, which brings together around 60 dance writers and critics and are the only awards given by the body of professional dance critics in the UK.

This year they were held at the London Barbican Centre on 19 February, hosted by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Dane Hurst, who really encapsulated the spirt of the event.

As an independent British manufacturer of our own dance clothing label we couldn’t think of anything more fitting than sponsoring the Best Independent Company Award. We are delighted for Christopher Akrill and Charlotte Broom of Headspace dance who became the first ever recipient of the award presented by Samantha Carney, MD of Dansez.

We had such a fantastic afternoon at the National Dance Awards – great to meet up with old and new friends and to hear inspiring stories of how dance can transform lives. We are passionate about the contribution dance makes to our world and to see the importance of these awards in the eyes of all those who participated, shows just how much dance also means to them. We are proud to be a patron and sponsor of these awards.
